ST. NICK MAKES A SURPRISE VISIT TO DESERVING CHILDREN
SPACEHAB Makes Holiday Wishes Come True

The gold and silver tinsel lining the hallways signaled this day was special for the pre-kindergarten students at K.E. Little Elementary, but why? After all, Christmas is still weeks away. With curiosity running wild in their little heads, the children surprisingly waited patiently for permission to enter their classrooms, the same could not be said about the adults standing by. What happened next truly exemplifies what this holiday season is all about.

K.E. Little Pre-K students receive backpacks with toys.

SPACEHAB, Incorporated (NASDAQ/NMS: SPAB), a leading provider of commercial space services, teamed with the Visit from Saint Nicholas program to provide backpacks filled with toys to underprivileged students on December 6th, the day Saint Nicholas is celebrated around the world. "To see the expression on the children's faces when they realized the backpacks were for them was priceless," said Michael E. Kearney, SPACEHAB President and CEO. "As a company, we look for opportunities to give back to the community we live, play and work in. When it comes to children, we make every attempt to introduce them to the exciting field of space exploration. Who knows, we may have met some future astronauts in those classrooms."

The annual event is coordinated by Volunteer Houston Bay Area and a committee of volunteers, and is generously sponsored by local businesses and individual donors. For 18 years the charitable project has been providing backpacks and toys to schools where a majority of children qualify for the free/reduced lunch program, and are typically located in economically disadvantaged areas. A total of 12,000 kids at 34 schools in greater Houston will benefit from the program this year alone.
