FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SPACEHAB OFFERS COMMERCIAL SPACE ACCESS ON UPCOMING ATV LAUNCH February 3, 2005 – SPACEHAB is pleased to announce the availability of payload launch services to the International Space Station (ISS). The services are provided on Progress or Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) spacecraft and are offered for unpowered or self-powered experiments with a total launch mass not exceeding 20 kg. On-orbit experiment refrigeration/incubation services are also available within the Russian segment of the ISS. Most recently, SPACEHAB provided the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency with launch of a protein crystal growth incubation system aboard a Progress vehicle with subsequent operation aboard the ISS via a contract with Mitsubishi Corporation, SPACEHAB’s marketing representative in Japan. “Commercial access to space is no longer limited to the space shuttle or just a few expendable launch vehicles,” said Dan A. Bland, Senior Vice President, SPACEHAB Flight Services. “SPACEHAB has a wide range of space research and logistics capabilities with the ability to get our customers payloads into space on a variety of manned and unmanned spacecraft.” With nearly twenty successful missions on Progress and the space shuttle to low Earth orbit, the International Space Station, and space station Mir, as well as payload processing services performed on over 220 unmanned spacecraft, SPACEHAB continues to provide flexible, affordable space access and processing services to its clients. “SPACEHAB has always provided competitive commercial access to space,” said Michael E. Kearney, SPACEHAB President and Chief Executive Officer. “The alliances we have built with international space leaders including the European Space Agency and RSC Energia, Russia’s largest space company, will continue to keep us in the forefront of this pioneering, growth market.” For more information on these services, catalog pricing rates, or to book your payload on the next ATV mission, please contact Steve Brock at 713.558.5038 (sbrock@spacehab.com) or visit SPACEHAB’s website at www.spacehab.com/sfs/pricing.htm.
