MEDIA ADVISORY Divine Mercy's Young Astronaut Club is sponsoring the Space Day event, which will also feature representatives of NASA and other aerospace companies operating on Florida's Space Coast. Divine Mercy has students in grades pre-K to Grade 8. The Space Day event will take place in the gymnasium at Divine Mercy, 1940 North Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island. Invited guests at the event and members of the Young Astronaut Club will be giving presentations throughout the day. Space Day, celebrated each year on the first Thursday in May (Divine Mercy's Space Day event is taking place a day later this year), is a global celebration dedicated to achievements, benefits and opportunities in the exploration and use of space. The goal of Space Day is to advance science, math and technology education and to inspire young people to realize the vision of the world's space pioneers.
