FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

E! ENTERTAINMENT CO-FOUNDER LARRY NAMER JOINS BOARD OF DIRECTORS AT SPACE MEDIA, INC.
Space Media Will Retain Steeplechase Media Inc. As Strategic Partner and Advisor

Washington D.C., November 14, 2000 - E! Entertainment Television Co-Founder Larry Namer has joined Space Media, Inc.'s (SMI) Board of Directors, it was announced today by Dr. Shelley A. Harrison, Chairman and CEO of Space Media, Inc. and SpaceHab, Inc. SMI was formed last spring as a subsidiary of SpaceHab Inc. (NASDAQ: SPAB) to create proprietary space and technology-themed content for broadcast and Internet distribution. SMI will also retain as its strategic partner Namer's Steeplechase Media, Inc., one of the foremost new media development companies.

Namer's focus is to continue the development of Space Media, Inc. as the definitive source for space-related entertainment, informational, news & educational content, and to develop a broadband service for distribution of this content on all high-speed platforms including cable modems and set-top boxes.

Namer, a renowned new media and cable industry innovator and leader with over 30 years of professional experience, formed Steeplechase Media Inc. in 1995 to develop interactive television and new media content and distribution systems. Through Steeplechase he has created content and technology for television-PC convergence and has one of the only new media production companies specializing in creating interactive programming. Steeplechase pioneered interactive Judge Judy, one of the first daily series to have ITV components as well as developed television.com, one of the first "made for set-top box" services. Today, the company is involved in numerous enhanced TV co-productions and broadband services with some of the country's most prominent entertainment organizations, including Big Ticket Television (a division of Viacom), WebTV, and several major cable companies.

"SMI connects people and space, " said Shelley Harrison. "Combining our experience, understanding and access to space with Larry Namer's formidable and successful capabilities to connect people through new media is very exciting."

"Space Media is the only real company out there with actual experience in doing anything in space," said Namer. "Lately we've witnessed heightened attention to space and space related ventures. This validates our belief that there is great interest in this type of programming. While many folks have been promoting their upcoming projects connected to various space programs, I believe that in very short order, the global TV community will come to understand that only Space Media is poised to deliver on time and on budget," added Namer.

Prior to forming Steeplechase Media, Inc. and starting E! Entertainment in 1984 with Alan Mruvka, Namer developed Movies USA Magazine. Namer also is President and CEO of Comspan Communications, one of Hollywood's foremost strategic planning and consulting firms for the cable television and new media industries. Among its clients are The Documentary Channel, Recovery Networks, Hobby Craft Interactive, and Expo Networks International. Comspan was also the primary consultant to Microsoft's innovative, interactive television initiative, MiTV. Before this, Namer was Vice President and General Manager of Valley Cable Television (VCTV) in Los Angeles, the nation's first 61-channel two-way cable system. His vision and direction garnered VCTV several Emmy and ACE award nominations, as well as recognition by Forbes magazine as the national model for local cable television programming.

Namer began his career at Time Incorporated Manhattan Cable in 1971. He is also a recipient of the prestigious President's Award from the National Cable Television Association in 1989.

SMI announced earlier this year that it owns all multimedia rights for the first commercial broadcasting studio and multimedia production facility in space, the Enterprise™. Developed by SPACEHAB and RSC Energia (RSCE) of Russia, the module is to be launched to the International Space Station in 2003. Most recently, SMI has joined with RSC Energia forming a multimedia partnership to develop multimedia content for both television broadcast and Internet distribution from the Russian segment of the ISS, and the development and distribution of the previously-unseen archives of the former Soviet and Russian space program maintained by RSCE.

SPACEHAB is the world's leading provider of commercial services for manned and unmanned missions in space. SPACEHAB is the first company to commercially develop, own and operate habitable modules that provide laboratory facilities and logistics aboard NASA's Space Shuttles. The company also supports NASA astronaut training at Johnson Space Center in Houston.
