The Company began satellite launch processing operations at Vandenberg AFB, on the California Central Coast, in July 1993 and has processed payloads for customers including Motorola's Iridium Satellites and the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization.

Upon receiving the George A. Koopman Award, George Baker, Vice President of ASTROTECH commented, "We appreciate this recognition from the Space Community and view it as an indication that commercial space is thriving on the California Central Coast".

ASTROTECH is currently supporting an initiative of the Boeing Company by constructing a new facility in Long Beach, California to serve Boeing's Sea Launch Program Operations.

With ASTROTECH as a subsidiary, SPACEHAB Inc., (NASDAQ: SPAB) is the world's premier commercial provider of pre-flight processing facilities for both manned and unmanned space missions.
