April 10, 1996 — SPACEHAB, Incorporated (NASDAQ: SPAB) announced
today that Dr. Shelley A. Harrison, Chairman of the Board has assumed
the additional position of Chief Executive Officer of the Company,
effective immediately. Chester M. Lee, Vice President, Operations
has been named Acting President of SPACEHAB. Richard Hora, SPACEHAB
President has elected to resign his position to pursue other interests.
"With a strong and proven
management team in place at SPACEHAB, this management transition is not expected
to have a negative impact on our operations," stated Dr. Shelley A. Harrison,
SPACEHAB's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Lee has served as the Company's Vice President, Operations since November
1987. Prior to joining SPACEHAB, Mr. Lee worked for NASA for 23 years. Dr.
Harrison has served as the Company's Chairman of the Board of Directors since
August 1993 and has been a member of the Company's Board of Directors since
1987.
SPACEHAB is the first company to commercially develop, own and operate habitable modules that provide space-based laboratory research facilities and logistics resupply services aboard the U.S. Space Shuttle system. With these modules, the Company serves three primary markets: (i) microgravity space research onboard the Space Shuttles; (ii) space station logistics and support; and (iii) ground operations and payload processing services that support both microgravity research and human space flight.
