The company owns and operates processing facilities located on Vandenberg Air Force Base at the Western Range. Similar in capability to the Florida facilities, only smaller in size, the 32,000 sq. ft. Vandenberg facility is EPA and OSHA-compliant and provides for hazardous and non-hazardous processing, hardware storage, and customer office accommodations.

In November 2006 Astrotech was awarded a $20.0 million contract to design and build a payload processing facility for the U.S. Government, Office of Space Launch, on the Companyís existing 60-acre site at Vandenberg Air Force Base enhancing the West Coast capabilities already provided. The new facility, scheduled for completion in September 2009, will include 8,000 square feet of additional capacity that enables the processing of payloads that will utilize up to five-meter fairings.
