Astrotech's Florida facilities, located
in a foreign trade zone just three miles outside the gate
of Kennedy Space Center, consist of nine major buildings,
totaling 140,000 sq. ft., dedicated to spacecraft hazardous
and non-hazardous processing, payload and hardware storage,
and customer office accommodations.
Meeting all EPA and OSHA
requirements and sited to DoD standards, Astrotech's hazardous
processing accommodations include an explosion-proof design,
fueling "islands", bi-propellant
fueling capability, and balancing capacity of 18,500 lbs.
The
compound's marquis structure is the $30M, 50,000 sq. ft.
Spacecraft Processing Facility designed to support processing
of five-meter class spacecraft in support of the Boeing Delta
IV and Lockheed Martin Atlas V launch vehicle
programs.
